What is a Pictorial: Vicious Cycle Worksheet?

A vicious cycle is a negative series of events that build on and reinforce each other, like if you negatively perceive a situation or interpret any event then it leads to negative emotions,  negative emotions lead to the negative behaviours and ultimately leading to negative actions. This premise is based on Cognitive behavioural Therapy, which believes that how you interpret the events determines how you feel about them and how you evaluate the situation affects your emotions and behaviours.

The worksheet will help you to understand how your perception affects your behaviours and actions.  This will help you understand and break the negative vicious thought pattern. It will make you mindful of the fact that how one single negative interpretation of the situation leads to another negative event. This worksheet will make you mindful of your behavior 

  • Situation: The triggering factor
  • Thought: How you interpret the situation, positive and negative
  • Emotion:  How you feel. If thought is positive, then feelings will be positive.
  • Behavior:  How you react to the stimulus.
