Grief and loss are not normal feelings of sadness. Grief is a mixture of depression, guilt, anger, and intense sadness. After loss one may feel grieved. A person passes through five stages of grief but sometimes gets stuck on one of the phases. Grief and loss therapy addresses those feelings of fixation on one stage and helps a person move out from a stage and cope with loss.
