The ABC model is a basic technique of CBT. The technique is used to tell you the relationship between your thoughts, and behaviors and later on challenge your irrational thoughts. According to this technique, it is your beliefs about a specific event that affect how you react to that event. This model can be used to challenge irrational thoughts and cognitive distortions of a person.
